The Future of Printed Media

IELTS Writing Task 2

6.5
Response: An increasing number of people are using e-books and podcasts rather than printed books. It is argued that printed books and newspapers will disappear in the future. I believe that the convenience and affordability of online reading may result in the deletion of printed ones. To begin with, there is no limitation to reading by technology. People can easily search in a variety of online libraries and start to read their favorite books, so cutting-edge technology has provided convenient reading. When individuals can read various books without carrying them, they will be more inclined to use technology. For example, students can have all of the school books on a phone, while they are traveling or there is no access to the original books. Although these portable books may lead to staring at screens for a long time, I reckon that using technology in an appropriate way prevents diseases. Furthermore, expensive books in libraries could be freely purchased. Online reading reduces the necessity of paying too much money. Therefore, there is access to any book which was impossible for some people to buy. When students can read various books, they will be more informed about subjects and consequently, more capable in school. Moreover, online books have provided opportunities for people at work. For instance, reading books on a break at work not only brings a sense of productivity but also improves the per capita reading in countries. To conclude, I strongly agree that accessible and affordable books may result in the disappearance of printed newspapers and printed books; however, these online books may bring some problems such as blurred vision.

Response: It is an imperative for mankind to save money for future, and I align myself with this statement. These days, saving money seems unimportant and hard. People work to live better lives but the amount of their salaries might not be as much as they need. Sometimes incomes are not sufficient for living conveniently. Consequently, people don't have enough money to save for future. More over, young people that has just started to work, don't get paid enough to save extra money. Take university students as an example. They need to pay for their education and if they receive extra money, it won't be helpful due to high amount of purchase they have. But what if an unpredictable thing happens to them? On the other hand, people should always separate a part of their salary for future. Firstly, if you force yourself not to buy unnecessary stuff or not to go on unnecessary trips, you can save some money. When you are not prepared for an unpredictable event, this money would save you. Secondly, without saving money, you would not have the ability to buy expensive things. For instance when you decide to buy a house you need to save money for years in order to be prepared. Finally, saving money may allows you to change your job whenever you want. Indeed when you have some money saved, it allows you to be unemployement for a while, until you find the best career without rush. In conclusion, although it might seem hard or sometimes impossible to save money, it is beneficial and sometimes crucial.

Response: In the contemporary era, the technology has witnessed an unprecedented surge, reflecting a significant shift in people’s habits. Nowadays, smartphones have changed the face of world and we see children spend a vast amount of time on smartphones. I argue that the negative consequences of using digital devises, particularly in term of social and personal life, far outweigh the benefits, making it a largely detrimental breakthrough. Many researchers believe that the paramount importance of spending many hours in smartphones is related to social media because they allow them to establish cross-cultural friendships and also deep connections. So, they can get familiar with different individuals and it give them a sense of joy. Moreover, as technology develops nothing remains unchanged and the way children attend class is no exception. Many proponents argue that one of the main reasons of spending a lot of time on these cold-hard digital devises is due to the growth of online class. A debate has emerged about whether smart phones are detrimental or not. Many supporters opine it can be beneficial in some aspects such as online education, and provide opportunities for those children that do not assess in quality training. While many proponents think a number of deficiencies are associated with using smart phones. For instance, it can be significantly perilous for children health, affecting not only mental health but also physical. They say loudly setting for a long hours while children using their smart gadgets can lead to dire consequences such as obesity, poor eyesight and spinal-related problems. Furthermore, in terms of mental issues a large number of scientists believe it may result in isolation. In conclusion, times have changed and the ways of living have as well. These days, many children spend many time on smart phones and online education and social media are two crucial factors that contributes in this phenomenon. While many assert that it can be worthwhile, I firmly believe that the multitude of drawbacks derived from using a lot from digital devises do not represent a viable approach.

The Importance of Home Ownership

IELTS Writing Task 2

Response: In certain nations, owning a home instead of renting is deemed a matter of significant importance for individuals. Were I to express my opinion, I would say the same is true in my country, mainly because of the drop in the value of our currency. Moreover, in my opinion, the need to allocate time for paying rent and the stress caused by monthly rental payment can be overwhelming, whereas homeowners do not face such issues. To begin with, I must say in countries like mine, Islamic republic of Iran, the value of currency decreases every day, making it impossible to purchase high-priced assets like houses. As a result, if someone has a fixed amount of money, they might be able to purchase home with it this year; next year, however, they may not even be able to afford a car with the same amount. Thus, renting home is just a temporary cure, and after some years, paying rent will surely be impossible. Furthermore, renting a house requires a monthly considerable amount of funds, which can sometimes be a quite high. Not only do you need to make sure that you pay it on time, but you also face the constant stress wondering whether you will make it or not. My mother, for instance, is a homeowner and she is used to save money monthly, and purchase gold to keep her savings value, and by the end of the year, convert the gold into a property. As a result, she has no stress about her wealth; my aunt, on the other hand, lives in a renting home, and always has anxiety thinking about the next month rental payment, and I cannot remember her being relaxed at all. Therefore, it can be concluded that in certain countries, which the currency’s value lessen daily, renting home does not seem reasonable, and will merely add to existing concerns of life.

Balancing Main and Additional Subjects in University Education

Response: Some students prefer to learn new lessons apart from their main subjects, while others believe that it is more essential to allocate all their time to studying for a qualification. Although learning new skills can be beneficial, I believe that focusing on main subjects can be more significant for students’ career prospects. On the one hand, the most compelling reason why students tend to learn new subjects is that it will lead them to personal development. If students gainnew skills, they will be more talented in various fields, leading to improvement in their confidence. For example, some students often try to learn a new language such as English, an international language, which is crucial for maintaining international interactions. Improving communication skills not only can boost their confidence but also makes them acquire more competence in every aspect of their lives. On the other hand, the reason supporting this notion that students should focus on their main subjects and allocate all their time to it is that it can provide more job opportunities for them. The more students allot their time to studying an ability, the more proffesional they will be at it. As they are more unlikely to be distracted by other subjects, they can improve their efficiency and productivity. Take students studying medicine, an important job for maintaining public health, for example; if they want to engage in learning a new subject such as art, they might not be successful in medicine; in contrast, focusing on their main subjects makes them more highly skilled, which is an important factor in offering more job opportunities. In conclusion, while learning new subjects helps students improve their interpersonal skills, it is more beneficial for them to allot all their attention to studying their main subjects as it can make them more professional and provide them with more job opportunities.

Accepting vs. Improving Bad Situations

Response: While some individuals contend that accepting tough conditions is the optimal approach, others argue that improvement in the conditions should be preferable. This essay will discuss both perspectives before presenting my point of view. On one hand, some individuals are opposed to the changes. They believe that what people experience is part of their lives so that they should acknowledge challenges and difficulties, which leads to a stability in their lives. For instance, working in a position which provides insufficient satisfaction is more convenient than acquiring new skills and roles for another occupation. Moreover, adapting with difficulties can help people to acknowledge what they have and avoid consumerism because they strive to put up with financial instability. For example, insufficient budgets can oblige individuals to do less impulsive shopping, contributing to enhanced tolerance of the condition. On the other hand, proponents of development believe that by making enough efforts people can have better lives. They argue that the acceptance of challenging conditions can leave behind people from progress and success, which can deteriorate situations. Once people accept financial problems should be accepted, they may lose what they have and become homeless because they try to acknowledge the condition instead of making money to alleviate it. Furthermore, people may suffer from emotional diseases like depression and isolation when they are not satisfied with what they do, leading to less productivity in the workplace. To conclude, while some individuals argue that the adaptation of adverse conditions can enhance stability and tolerance in their lives, I believe that people should strive to convert the conditions because accepting the problems can not only worsen the condition but also make people depressed and less productive.

The Importance of Home Ownership

Response: Ownership of a house has always been a considerable issue in some countries. Mostly, people prefer to buy a house rather than rent one, however provision of an adequate amount of money to purchase a house necessitate some measures. In my opinion, thriving to be an owner brings more stability and welfare. To begin with, people who are renting houses for years, won't be sure of next year situation. They cannot firmly decide where their children should be enrolled in a school. For example, my professor at university who has not a house, he has never assured us whether next will come to our university or no, because he has to choose if can rent a flat around the university or no. On the other side people who possess a place to live in, they are able of making firm decisions about enrolment of their children or job situation most of the time. Family members' peace of mind and less level of stress are consequences of housing stability that leads to mindfulness in career. When people are less stressful, they will perform effectively in their job Furthermore, individuals who are in a stable home, have more opportunity of saving money. Not only they are not pressurized to pay rent or get a mortgage to live in a place but also there is a possibility of finance improvement. As a result, people can save their money for subsequent purposes. For example, in many countries people open an account and pile up their money to get a considerable mortgage to facilitate their goal achievement. To conclude, stable housing should be viewed as a positive situation. Career efficacy and other goals achievement are effective results of house ownership, however buying a private house is not that much approachable.
