Question:
Some people say that music is a good way of bringing people of different cultures and ages together. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
Response:
Music is often seen as a powerful tool to connect people with each other. In my opinion, it is one of the best tranquilizers that human beings have ever created. Although, there is some truth in the argument that music can bring people together, but it is not always effective for all cultures and age groups. On the one hand, it is widely accepted that music has numerous benefits for individuals. For instance, it is a common idea that music is a universal language that can communicate emotions across cultural barriers. Also, international events such as concerts and universal festivals that have international music, attract global audiences. Moreover, genres like rock and pop have been enjoyed by different generation over time. On the other hand, Music has its downside. Cultural preferences and generation differences are two of them. To explain, traditional music from one culture may be is unfamiliar or less appreciated by others. Furthermore, younger and old people may have very different tastes in music, which can create division more than unity. For example, although, some music genres like rock and rap are more enjoyable between youth, middle aged have less tendency to hear those. In conclusion, I agree with the idea that music can bring people together, but it also has limitations when it comes to cultural and generation differences. Music plays a vital role in connecting people, but it should be seen as one factor among many in fostering unity.
